Privacy Policy

When you register on Bhoi Matrimony, we collect information you provide directly including: your name, gender, date of birth, contact details (email address and phone number), community and family information, education and career details, location (state and city), profile photos, and partner preferences.

We use the information you provide to: create and maintain your profile; display your profile to other registered members; send you notifications about interests, matches, and account activity; verify your identity and authenticate your account; send OTP verification emails; respond to your support queries; and improve the Platform's features and performance. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Your profile information (name, age, location, education, occupation, and photos set to visible) is shown to other registered and verified members. Your email address and phone number are never displayed publicly on your profile. Sensitive information such as your exact date of birth and contact details are only accessible to you.

Profile photos are uploaded to and stored on Cloudinary, a secure cloud storage service. We do not use your photos for any purpose other than displaying them on your profile. You can delete your photos at any time from your profile settings.

We send transactional emails for OTP verification, interest notifications, and account-related alerts. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

We retain your profile data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages older than one month are automatically deleted to conserve storage and protect privacy. If you delete your account, all your profile data, photos, and messages will be permanently removed within 7 days.

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the Platform.

We use the following third-party services: MongoDB Atlas for database storage; Cloudinary for photo storage; Gmail SMTP for sending emails; and Vercel for hosting. Each of these services has their own privacy policies and security measures. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are securely managed. However, no system is completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to log out of shared devices.

You have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information in your profile at any time; delete your account and all associated data; and raise concerns about how your data is handled. To exercise these rights, contact us at matrimonybhoi@gmail.com.

Bhoi Matrimony is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Platform or sending an email to your registered address. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
